MHS Seniors Noah Hecox and Cason Darrow were recently awarded Music Program Scholarships at University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. The scholarship is has a value of $4,000 over a 4 year period. They are each pursuing music-related degrees. This should come as no surprise. Both of these young men have been an integral part of the Band of Dragons. Congratulations!

MHS Senior, Tanika Sixkiller, is getting excited about pursuing her degree in Collision Repair and Technology at ATU-Ozark! Tanika shared her thoughts about graduating and starting college this fall on @go2ATU on Instagram:
This week’s featured incoming freshman is Tanika Sixkiller! Tanika is currently a senior at Mountainburg HighSchool and will be joining us at the ATU Ozark campus in the fall as a collision repair technology major.
When asked why she is choosing to attend ATU, Tanika said: “The reason I chose to attend ATU is for the comfort that the campus gives towards the new freshmen and students who are pursuing degrees and careers that make them happy. ATU has the support that students need to pursue their degrees, and I chose ATU to pursue my passion.”

ATTENTION PARENTS OF MOUNTAINBURG STUDENTS: The USDA recently approved Arkansas’ 2024 Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) plan. Students who are already individually approved to receive free or reduced-priced meals or who are eligible for SNAP or TEA benefits will automatically receive $120 on an EBT card.
For students who are not already individually approved for free or reduced priced meals or who are not eligible for SNAP or TEA benefits, their parents/guardians must complete an application, and approval will be based on household income.
Parents of students who are not automatically eligible can access the Summer EBT application online or go to a DHS county office to pick up an application. The application form can be turned in at a DHS Local County Office or emailed to SummerEBT@dhs.arkansas.gov. Please do not return these to the school.
If parents or guardians have any questions concerning the Summer EBT program, they should contact the Department of Human Services at the designated Summer EBT Email. SummerEBT@dhs.arkansas.gov

May 1 has arrived... which also means that summer is not far away. The last day of school is Friday, May 24. Between now and then, there is a lot going on in and out of the classrooms. Parents/Guardians, it is important that students are in school everyday.
