MES Book Fair!!
Mountainburg Cheer is offering something NEW! Rec competition cheer! If you are interested please join us Thursday night at 6 pm in the High School Gym for an informational meeting about this new opportunity. This opportunity is for students in 4th grade to 6th grade or age 12. Halloween Bookmarks in the Library!
Students spent some time in the library today creating their own Halloween-themed bookmarks. A simple way to add a little creativity to their next read!

Good luck to our Dragon Golf team! They are headed to State in Hot Springs this morning for their practice round and will tee off tomorrow morning at 9:00am for the tournament.

Today, the Dragon Alumni presented our very own Mrs. Misty Christian with the Lifetime Achievement Award. She bleeds Dragon Blue and puts everything she has into our school and community. We are lucky to have her! Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Our middle school students kicked off October in the library with a Halloween diamond painting activity!
Our sophomores enjoyed a Book Tasting Activity in the library today!
Students sampled a variety of books, shared their thoughts, and rated each one as they made their way through the selections. A fun way to discover something new! 📚❤️
Stronger together! Superintendent Woods has released a new letter for our school community. Inside, you'll find homecoming information, a big thank-you to our families for supporting one another through August’s storms, updates on our safety initiatives, and guidance on how parents can connect with us to resolve any questions or concerns.
Homecoming Parade Update: Due to the impending weather forecast, the Homecoming Parade has been postponed to Monday, October 5 at 10:00 AM. The parade will go the same route as planned. A mini-districtwide pep rally will be held in Dragon Gymnasium at 9:30 AM.
We know this is short notice, but we wanted the most accurate forecast before making the call. This decision was made with the safety and best interest of everyone participating in mind. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility!

Friday, October 2 is a big day - Homecoming 2026!
Below is information that should be helpful for everyone planning to attend.
We understand that some families may be attending specifically for the pre-game ceremony and may not plan to stay for the football game. We would love to be able to provide complimentary admission for everyone participating in the ceremony, but unfortunately, that is not financially feasible for our athletic department.

Adopt-a-Shelf! 📚
We’re kicking off our first “Adopt-a-Shelf” at MMS with our first featured reader, Cashlyn Arnold!
Each week, we’ll introduce you to a new student, share a little about what they enjoy reading, and highlight the books they recommend from our library collection.

Our 5th graders received their very own book keychains in the library this week!
Each student chose a book they would recommend, and now they can take that recommendation with them wherever they go—right on their backpacks! We can’t wait to see students sharing their favorites, talking about books, and discovering their next read from a friend’s recommendation!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held October 12–16 during Parent-Teacher Conference Week.
Families are invited to stop by the library while attending Parent-Teacher Conferences and shop our Book Fair. Students and families will have the opportunity to browse a wide selection of books and find something for every reader.
Payment options include: Cash, credit/debit cards, and Scholastic eWallet.
Additional information, including details on setting up an eWallet, will be shared soon.

Share the Fair
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held October 12–16 during Parent-Teacher Conference Week, and we have an opportunity for our school community to help make the Book Fair accessible to every student.
Through Scholastic’s Share the Fair program, families, friends, and community members can contribute funds toward students’ Book Fair purchases. It is a simple way to help a student choose a book to take home and enjoy.
