It's time to celebrate the Band of Dragons at their Annual Band Concert.

May is a month of blooming flowers, warming weather, and a sense of anticipation in schools everywhere. As spring settles in, students and teachers alike begin to feel the excitement of the approaching summer break. Classrooms are filled with the hum of final projects, test reviews, and countdowns to the last day of school.
For many schools, May is also a time of celebration. From field days and spring concerts to graduation ceremonies and award nights, the month is packed with moments that recognize hard work and growth. It’s a time to reflect on the progress made throughout the school year, to honor accomplishments, and to look ahead to new adventures.
In May, the days stretch longer and brighter, encouraging outdoor learning, school garden projects, and end-of-year picnics. There’s a feeling of both closure and new beginnings—perfect for inspiring students to finish strong and dream big.

Even though the weather didn't cooperate, MES Fun Day was still packed with fun, laughter, and smiles. Thanks to the flexibility and teamwork of our staff, the fun didn’t miss a beat!
A HUGE THANK YOU to the amazing parents who volunteered—we are so grateful for your help in making this day extra special for our students.
Our wonderful teachers and staff shared their creativity, flexibility, and commitment to creating joyful experiences for our kids. You all made the day unforgettable.

It is School Lunch Heros Day!!
Today, we proudly celebrate a group of true everyday heroes—the amazing school nutrition staff at Mountainburg Schools—on School Lunch Hero Day!
These incredible individuals do so much more than serve meals. They nourish bodies, fuel minds, and brighten days with every tray they prepare and every smile they share. From the early morning hours to the final cleanup, they work tirelessly behind the scenes, making sure our students are cared for, one meal at a time.
Rain or shine, in big crowds or quiet days, our lunch heroes keep the kitchens running with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of love. They know students by name, remember favorites, and make the cafeteria a place where everyone feels welcome.
Their work is essential. It’s powerful. And it deserves to be recognized.
So today, we say a huge thank you to our School Lunch Heroes.
Thank you for your warmth.
Thank you for your dedication.
Thank you for feeding the future—literally and lovingly.
Mountainburg is grateful for you. Our students thrive because of you. And today, we celebrate YOU.
Happy School Lunch Hero Day to our Mountainburg Nutrition Team—you're heroes in every sense of the word!

Today, we proudly recognize and celebrate someone whose impact resonates in every corner of our school — Chop Jones, Dean of Students for MMS/MHS and Jenks Smith, Dean of Students at MES.
With a steady hand and an open heart, they guide our students through challenges and triumphs alike. Whether it's helping resolve conflicts, championing student success, or simply lending a listening ear, Coach Chop and Mr. Smith are constant sources of strength and support.
Under their leadership, our schools have become more than just a place of learning — they have become a community built on respect, accountability, and care. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our school is a safe and welcoming space for all.
[
On behalf of the entire student body and staff, thank you, Coach Chop and Mr. Smith for your dedication, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to our growth. Your influence reaches far beyond the classroom — you inspire us to be better every day.

Where will "You" find joy today?

Today, we take a special moment to recognize and celebrate the heart of our schools—the dedicated principals of Mountainburg Schools.
In every classroom, every hallway, every event and every challenge, the leadership of our principals is felt. They are more than administrators—they are mentors, encouragers, problem-solvers, and advocates. Their commitment to our students, staff, and families is unmatched.
At Mountainburg, we are proud to have principals who lead with integrity, compassion, and unwavering dedication. Whether it’s supporting a student in need, lifting up a teacher, or building a vision for our schools’ future, our principals step up day after day—with purpose and with heart.
Their work often goes unseen, but its impact is undeniable. The culture of kindness, the pursuit of excellence, the sense of unity across our campuses—it all reflects the steady hands and caring hearts of our school leaders.
So today, on Principals Day, we say thank you.
Thank you for your leadership.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for believing in every student who walks through our doors.
Mountainburg is stronger, smarter, and more united because of you.
Happy Principals Day to the incredible leaders of Mountainburg Schools—we appreciate you more than words can say.
Be sure to let Mrs. Watkins, Mrs. Walker, and Mrs. Cristee know how much you appreciate them!

Mountainburg Public Schools is initiating a strategic plan to address facility needs. To support our students and provide a high-quality learning environment, we are requesting a 3.9-mill increase, which would bring our millage rate to 47.9 mills.
This funding would allow us to build a new middle school/ high school cafeteria providing a modern, warm, safe and dry kitchen and student dining space. Voters will decide on this investment in May 2025, ensuring we can meet both current and future student needs.
There will be two public meetings:
Thursday, May 1 at 6:00
Tuesday, May 6 at 6:00
Please join us in the MMS/MHS Cafeteria for a Q&A, review and provide input in the preliminary designs, tour the existing cafeteria, and the new Dragon Gym & Activity Center.
This is a link to a newsletter that goes into more detail about the cafeteria project: https://secure.smore.com/n/12mg9?fbclid=IwY2xjawJyKrlleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHjVjjYNgF5xFLpcXUkNSwKg8N13uMUOeCP9ffilxFS8PDmnna6tWxDHuopE2_aem_JUVXCpw705-TvsrJrCGvdg
