Adopt-a-Shelf! 📚
We’re kicking off our first “Adopt-a-Shelf” at MMS with our first featured reader, Cashlyn Arnold!
Each week, we’ll introduce you to a new student, share a little about what they enjoy reading, and highlight the books they recommend from our library collection.

Our 5th graders received their very own book keychains in the library this week!
Each student chose a book they would recommend, and now they can take that recommendation with them wherever they go—right on their backpacks! We can’t wait to see students sharing their favorites, talking about books, and discovering their next read from a friend’s recommendation!

Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held October 12–16 during Parent-Teacher Conference Week.
Families are invited to stop by the library while attending Parent-Teacher Conferences and shop our Book Fair. Students and families will have the opportunity to browse a wide selection of books and find something for every reader.
Payment options include: Cash, credit/debit cards, and Scholastic eWallet.
Additional information, including details on setting up an eWallet, will be shared soon.

Share the Fair
Our Scholastic Book Fair will be held October 12–16 during Parent-Teacher Conference Week, and we have an opportunity for our school community to help make the Book Fair accessible to every student.
Through Scholastic’s Share the Fair program, families, friends, and community members can contribute funds toward students’ Book Fair purchases. It is a simple way to help a student choose a book to take home and enjoy.

Scholastic Book Fair eWallet
Our Scholastic Book Fair is coming October 12–16 during Parent-Teacher Conference Week!
Looking for a convenient way for your student to shop without sending cash? Scholastic eWallet allows families to create a secure digital account for students to use at the Book Fair.
With eWallet, families can:
Add funds using a credit or debit card
Allow students to shop without carrying cash
Invite family members to contribute funds

HOMECOMING WEATHER UPDATE
Last week our 2nd-4th graders tested their engineering skills by making paper structures to hold a stack of books. This week our 3rd and 4th graders had a special guests during Dragon Time. They learned all about the POWER of PAPER!!
FAFSA Night is happening this year on October 13th from 2:30pm - 6:30pm during parent teacher conferences. ATU Ozark's financial aid office will be at the high school to assist you and your senior in filling out the form. As a reminder, this form must be filled out in order for your senior to qualify for financial aid when they go to college or trade school. We would love to help make this happen for you at Mountainburg High School on October 13th. If you are a senior parent/guardian make plans to drop in that evening!

Congratulations to Blakely Meares and Mackenzy Turner, our September LitBox winners!
Both students have consistently brought their library books each week and demonstrated excellent effort and participation in the library. We are proud to recognize their hard work and commitment to reading.

I wanted to let everyone know that Nikki Yardley will be taking over as the Dragon Yearbook adviser moving forward.
I truly enjoyed my years as Dragon Yearbook Adviser. It has been a project that I have cared a great deal about, and I’m proud of the books we have produced over the years. For the past 12 years, I have been fortunate to take the lead on the yearbook and, for the most part, have handled the process independently from start to finish.
As my teaching responsibilities have grown and additional responsibilities have been added to my plate, the yearbook had increasingly taken a back seat. I realized that it was time to make a change that would allow the program to have the time and attention it deserves.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Dragon Yearbook for so many years. I was on Linda Morris' yearbook staff for two years here at MHS so it was very special to be the adviser for so many years. I’m excited to see where Nikki takes it from here. Please join me in welcoming her to the role and supporting her as she takes on this new responsibility.
Thank you to everyone who supported me and the yearbook throughout the years. It has truly been a memorable part of my career.

It's FOOTBALL in Mountainburg tonight! The Jr. High Dragons will take on Magnet Cove Panthers, 6:00 PM. The gates will open at 5:00 PM.
