It's never too early for students to learn the value of knowing CPR. The 7th grade FACS students were very excited about their Certification and they had a hands-on learning experience thanks to our Instructor, Jake Tucker! Each student at the end of the hour received a certificate for knowing the steps of CPR and what to do in an emergency situation.

Thursday, December 18 is the Annual Toy Toss in Memory of Ms. Jamie Seratt. This will be held during following the cheerleaders' performance at halftime of the Sr. High Boys game.

Mrs. Simmons took some Physical Science students to the James W. Trimble Lock and Dam in Barling on Monday, December 8. The students heard from two educators with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission who took them up the river on their Education Barge. Students were able to put their Boater Education knowledge to use! They also looked for Eagles and their nests on the river.

A group of students interested in exploring careers in the creative arts recently had the opportunity to participate in a career tour and workshop at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art with Mrs. Mihaila and Mrs. Hays. Students enjoyed getting to explore the museum, learn about different career fields, and curate their own sample art exhibit!

Students in grades 9th-12th are invited to volunteer at the upcoming PTO family movie night at MES to earn community service credit. Students should plan to arrive at 5:30 pm and wrap up around 8:00 pm. It will be in the MES gym. Students interested in volunteering should email Mrs. Mihaila to sign up at amber.mihaila@mountainburg.org.
