Celebrating Progress in Mountainburg!

The Arkansas Department of Education has released the latest school letter grades, and we are proud to recognize the progress being made across the Mountainburg School District!

Mountainburg Elementary School: C ➡️ B
Mountainburg Middle School: D ➡️ C
Mountainburg High School: C
Mountainburg School District: C

These results represent the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our administrators, teachers, staff, students, and families. Moving from a C to a B at MES and from a D to a C at MMSl is something worth celebrating!

At the same time, we know that a letter grade is only one measure of a school community. There is always room to learn, grow, improve, and strive for more. The progress we see today is a reminder of what can happen when we continue working together with a shared commitment to our students.

Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to these accomplishments! Your hard work matters, and we are excited to see what the future holds. There is nowhere to go but UP!

Let’s keep encouraging one another, supporting our schools, and building on this progress. Go Dragons! 🐉

Happy National IT Professionals Day! Sorry this is a day late Scott! If you see Scott today, make sure to give him a high five! It’s National IT Professionals Day, and we’re recognizing our amazing Technology Director. Scott is truly the BEST—whether he's putting out sudden technical fires, driving huge tech initiatives, or keeping the entire school district connected and online. Thank you, Scott, for everything you do behind the scenes (and on the front lines) to keep us thriving!

When our teachers grow, our students benefit! We appreciate our families for supporting this important time for our staff.

A little STEM fun in the library today! During enrichment, students worked together to build a working piano using a circuit-building kit. A fun way to combine creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork!

Book Tasting Week! 📚☕️ Our 5th graders spent this week exploring new books, discovering different genres, and finding stories they just might want to read next! They had such a fun time “tasting” books and sharing their thoughts along the way. The goal of our Book Tasting was to give students the opportunity to step outside their usual choices, explore new genres, and experience reading in a fun and engaging way—all while encouraging a lifelong love of reading. We are incredibly grateful to the community sponsors who helped make this experience possible! Our students enjoyed so many thoughtful donations from: - Geno’s Pizza in Alma: Cookies - Catfish Hole in Alma: Snacks and Drinks - Olive Coffee Company: Hot Chocolate - The Boujee Lemon: Lemonade - The Coffee Parlor: Lemonade & Cake Pops - Perk Coffee: Juice - Chapters on Main: Book Certificates - Julia Watkins with the Mountainburg Public Library: Snacks & a Monetary Donation - Brittany Moore: Snacks and Drinks And a special thank-you to the community members who chose to donate anonymously. Your generosity means just as much! We are so thankful for a community that invests in our students and helps us create meaningful experiences for them. This week would not have been possible without your support!

Mountainburg Schools Remembers 9/11

Today, Mountainburg Schools pauses to remember the lives lost and the countless lives forever changed by the tragedy of September 11, 2001.

We honor the courage of the first responders, the strength of the survivors, and the compassion shown by communities across our nation in the days that followed.

May we never forget the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, and the enduring spirit of unity and resilience that followed.

Where were you on that September day?

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Every year, Mountainburg High School gives the ASVAB to Juniors. This year, we will be giving it on Thursday, September 17th. This is a career aptitude assessment that shows students in depth information about their strengths and gives them ideas about careers they would excel in. This is a great chance to get students diving deeper to figure out what their future after high school might look like. We are looking forward to offering this opportunity to students again!
