Congratulations to Blakely Meares and Mackenzy Turner, our September LitBox winners!
Both students have consistently brought their library books each week and demonstrated excellent effort and participation in the library. We are proud to recognize their hard work and commitment to reading.

I wanted to let everyone know that Nikki Yardley will be taking over as the Dragon Yearbook adviser moving forward.
I truly enjoyed my years as Dragon Yearbook Adviser. It has been a project that I have cared a great deal about, and I’m proud of the books we have produced over the years. For the past 12 years, I have been fortunate to take the lead on the yearbook and, for the most part, have handled the process independently from start to finish.
As my teaching responsibilities have grown and additional responsibilities have been added to my plate, the yearbook had increasingly taken a back seat. I realized that it was time to make a change that would allow the program to have the time and attention it deserves.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Dragon Yearbook for so many years. I was on Linda Morris' yearbook staff for two years here at MHS so it was very special to be the adviser for so many years. I’m excited to see where Nikki takes it from here. Please join me in welcoming her to the role and supporting her as she takes on this new responsibility.
Thank you to everyone who supported me and the yearbook throughout the years. It has truly been a memorable part of my career.

Game theme for September 25: Get into your Spidey Era!
It's FOOTBALL in Mountainburg tonight! The Jr. High Dragons will take on Magnet Cove Panthers, 6:00 PM. The gates will open at 5:00 PM.

Yesterday, Seniors had the chance to attend a College Fair hosted on the University of the Ozarks campus. Students visited with colleges from all over the state to learn about the programs available at their universities. This was a great event that hopefully provided clarity for our seniors about their future.
It's All Things Dragon Homecoming! Check out the graphics below for Spirit Days, Tailgate Information, and the 2026 Homecoming Court! It's just a week away!

Middle School Book Tasting! 📚❤️
Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders got to spend the day exploring new books, trying out different genres, and discovering stories they might not have picked up on their own!
Students had the chance to “taste” a variety of books, share their thoughts, and see what caught their interest. The goal was to encourage them to step outside of their usual reading choices and hopefully find a few new books to add to their reading lists!

We are so thankful for a community that continues to support our students and helps us create fun, meaningful experiences around reading. This Book Tasting wouldn’t have been possible without you!
Students spent time today practicing archery for the upcoming AGFC Generation Conservation Summit Regional Competition held in Springdale this October. MHS students will be competing in several other competitions along as well such as air rifles, nature center exhibit designs, quiz bowl, wildlife and fish ID, plus more!
Mountainburg High School is recognized as an Arkansas Gem School for having Science Growth in the top 10% in the state. The Arkansas Gem Schools Recognition Program celebrates outstanding results for students and recognizes schools that are leading the way in academic achievement, academic growth, and sustained improvement.

Celebrating Progress in Mountainburg!
The Arkansas Department of Education has released the latest school letter grades, and we are proud to recognize the progress being made across the Mountainburg School District!
Mountainburg Elementary School: C ➡️ B
Mountainburg Middle School: D ➡️ C
Mountainburg High School: C
Mountainburg School District: C
These results represent the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our administrators, teachers, staff, students, and families. Moving from a C to a B at MES and from a D to a C at MMSl is something worth celebrating!
At the same time, we know that a letter grade is only one measure of a school community. There is always room to learn, grow, improve, and strive for more. The progress we see today is a reminder of what can happen when we continue working together with a shared commitment to our students.
Congratulations to everyone who has contributed to these accomplishments! Your hard work matters, and we are excited to see what the future holds. There is nowhere to go but UP!
Let’s keep encouraging one another, supporting our schools, and building on this progress. Go Dragons! 🐉
