2026 K-12 CALENDAR

It's not too late to join our MJH or MHS Cheer teams- 7th through 12th graders are eligible! Next week we will be holding try-outs for our regular sideline teams for football, basketball, and competition and our Competition Only spots! Sideline team runs from now until the end of February; Competiton Only runs from the end of September until the end of December! Any questions, email mary.hecox@mountainburg.org! Practice Clinic days will be next Tuesday-Thursday 3:30-5:30! Then try-outs will be on Friday! We will be in Carl D. Rogers gym. Come join in the fun and help us share our Dragon pride and spirit with our school and community! If you have a conflict with a day next week but want to try-out- we can work around other sports and school commitments!

**Parent Pick-Up Reminder: MMS & MHS Students**

Parents and guardians picking up MMS or MHS students will use the parent pick-up area at the high school**.

Please enter campus ONLY through Pecan Street, which is the main entrance into the high school parking lot. This is the road across from Neon Moon. 

Do not use any other campus entrance for parent pick-up. Buses will be entering campus by the Administration Building to line up on the bus loading road. This includes the north and south exits that the buses use when leaving campus. Using those entrances can create congestion and is potentially not safe for our staff and students.

The map below should explain the direction of parent pick-up.

Congratulations to Vera Vichaivattana for shooting the low score in today's match vs. Paris and Greenland! Vera shot a personal best of 40 and earned medalist honors for her outstanding performance. Way to go, V!

Congratulations to our Dragon golf team for their win over Paris and Greenland tonight at home! Dallan Turner shot the low score of 38, followed by Boston Mondt(41), Caed Cowett(41), and Brayden Dudley(42). Freshman, Scout Knoner continues to improve and came in with a score of 43. Congratulations, Dragons!

Today, the teachers from MMS and MHS came together for a final workshop before the new year begins. The teachers learned strategies to keep students engaged in class. The presenters had great activities that teachers participated in. The 2026-2027 school year is here! Go Dragons!

Thank you to all of our parents, guardians, and students who joined us for our 2026 Open House at MMS and MHS. We had a fantastic turnout, and it was wonderful to see so many familiar faces back in the building and filling our hallways once again. It was also a great time to get to meet the new faces that will be at our campuses this year.

Your support, enthusiasm, and partnership mean so much as we prepare to begin another exciting school year. We can't wait to welcome everyone for the first day of school and look forward to a year filled with learning, growth, and success.

As we begin another school year, Mountainburg Schools would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mountainburg Presbyterian Church for hosting the annual Welcome Back to School Breakfast for our faculty and staff. This special tradition began in 1983 under the leadership of then-Superintendent Mr. Floyd Cagle, when the breakfast was held in what is now our school board room. Over four decades later, this event continues to be a meaningful way to welcome our staff back and kick off a new school year. We are incredibly grateful to Mountainburg Presbyterian Church for its unwavering support of our students, staff, and community. Your kindness, hospitality, and dedication have made this breakfast a cherished Mountainburg tradition, reminding us each year that we are surrounded by a community that truly cares. Thank you for 43 years of generosity, fellowship, and encouragement. We are proud to continue this wonderful tradition and look forward to another great year serving the students and families of Mountainburg. Thank you, Mountainburg Presbyterian Church, for helping us start the school year with full hearts and grateful spirits!
