Two weeks from tonight we will graduate 48 MHS seniors!

Spring Band and Choir Concert 2023

It was an exciting day for two MHS students and one MHS graduate. They had their official signing with companies at which they will be employed.
Mason Pense was hired by ABB through attending WATC at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
Wyatt Seratt was hired by SPF America following an interview at Draft Day in March.
Chrissy Picard was hired by Mercy-Fort Smith as an RN after graduating from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
Not pictured: Trenton Harrison. He interviewed with and was hired by Riggs-Cat.
Mrs. Cristee, Mrs. Daniel, and Mrs. Christian had the privilege of getting to attend the signing day luncheon and event hosted by the Fort Smith Area Chamber of Commerce.
Congratulations to these students and alumni as well as their families.

MHS Health students had to research vaping and its effects on health. Laurie Lamance, Addrionna Bentley, Kelly Burnett, and Cyan Robbins created a great article with statistics, ingredients, and ways to get help. Check it out here!

Happy Friday Dragons.💛

Thank you Catfish Hole- Alma for the surprise lunch for our MHS teachers! We appreciate your support!

As most of you know our construction building plan approval has been delayed due to issues with building code and requirements for storm shelters adopted last summer and brought to attention in late November. We have been working diligently since this issue arose, and together, with the help of several advocates and legislators, it was possible to get revisions adopted into law that will allow us to proceed with our gym/activity center and band room. The tornados that hit the state and destroyed schools as this issue was being debated put added concerns for student safety on the front of everyone's minds.
We got word from the state fire marshal today that our current storm shelter will meet our needs. The project is in the approval and bidding stages and will move forward. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we worked through this issue. Be sure and thank Senators Petty and Caldwell, and Representatives Puryear, Fite, and Evans for advocating specifically for Mountainburg in this case. Dragon ❤ Strong
