Today at the M Awards Assembly, Mrs. Vanzandt recognized a senior as the recipient of the Governor's Award for Musical Excellence, Joseline Lee. She is 1 of 100 students who were selected for this award.
Nomination and selection is based on Musicianship, Teamwork, Dedication, Character, and Attitude.

At the 2023 Varsity Athletic Banquet, Coach Dean was presented with a check for $6000 to go toward the purchase of new football jerseys.

Sadly, many people begin vaping feeling it to be a safer alternative when in actuality it is not. Even more disturbing is about 1 in 10, or more than 2.5 million U.S. middle and high school students currently used e-cigarettes (past 30-day) in 2022. Nicotine affects brain development which continues until age 25, so this age group can be especially vulnerable. Vaping-cessation programs are available for adolescents and adults should you or someone you know need help quitting.
GRADUATION LOCATION: The 2023 MHS Graduation will be held in Carl D. Rogers Gymnasium, Friday, May 19 at 7:30 PM.
We want to be proactive in communicating with our graduates and their families so they can be better prepared for their special day.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Friday evening. The Class of 2023 will soon be graduates of MHS!
At Monday night's board meeting, Mrs. Christian, Ms. Cummings, and Mr. Hall recognized their students who have achieved industry certifications through their courses this year.

A simple thank you doesn't seem adequate for what was done for the teachers at MHS last week for Teacher Appreciation Week. So many on the list below continually support our schools and our students.

Graduation Location Update: Dragon Stadium would be the most comfortable location for everyone; however, we are going to give the weather forecast a day or two and then decide. Fingers crossed that the weather does cooperate.
Graduation will be on campus either in Carl D. Rogers Gymnasium or in Dragon Stadium.
Summer 2023 P - EBT Information:
Mountainburg Public Schools participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program.
Students attending a school participating in CEP will be eligible for the Summer 2023 P-EBT benefit for a one-time payment of $120,00.
Timeline:
June 2, 2023 DESE will pull eligible student data from the statewide School database. DESE will send the data file to DHS for payment processing.
July-September 2023 - DHS will process and issue Summer 2023 P-EBT benefits.
September 30, 2023 - USDA's deadline for all Summer 2023 P-EBT benefits to be paid.

Plans are to have a definite decision on the location of graduation on Tuesday, May 16.
Congratulations to MHS Senior, Blake Foley! He competed in the FBLA District I Spring Leadership Conference and placed 1st in Networking Infrastructures. He went on to compete at state and placed 3rd!
