The World of Science at MHS

We are born with curiosity. Our curiosity is explored by observing the natural world, identifying patterns, asking questions, finding answers, and asking more questions. In Science classes, we explore the questions you have wondered about your whole life.

How did they do that? What is it made of? Is that real? Science is an inquiry-based subject where we look for the where, what, who, and why of the natural world. In Science classes students will develop skills essential to every area of life including problem solving, and critical thinking. Science and technology are all around us, making life simpler, faster, and more secure.

Three years of science are required for graduation. Current onsite classes offered are Physical Science, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, and Computer Science is coming in the Fall of 2021. High school science classes are taught by Ms. Meredith Burnett and Mr. Evan Merritt, both Mountainburg High School alumni.
